Today, we thank all the women in our lives!

Today is International Women’s Day. We want to take this opportunity to bring attention to the common, yet often stigmatised, topic of menstruation – a cause that Hactl has promoted in collaboration with charitable organisation Free Periods Hong Kong, since 2023. On average, a woman menstruates around 500 times during her life. It’s a natural phenomenon experienced by our mothers, sisters, female friends, colleagues and neighbours – but how much do we really know about it? How can we show our care and support?

Through exhibitions, talks and donations of essential menstrual and wellness products to girls and women in need, Hactl has reached out to over 5,000 staff and members of the public. Says Hactl Chief Sustainability Officer, Amy Lam: “The response from all sides has been gratifying, especially when we see university students feeling more confident in discussing the topic openly, and high school students of ethnic minority backgrounds finally receiving proper education on menstruation.”
