E-commerce boom drives new depot opening

Hacis has responded to the accelerating growth in China’s e-commerce sector, with the opening of a new inland cargo depot at Nansha in Guangdong Province.

The latest Hacis depot is located in Nansha New Zone in Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone - one of the eight pilot zones designated for cross-border e-commerce. The China government is encouraging the growth of e-commerce with a variety of preferential policies covering tax incentives, customs clearance and infrastructure development. The establishment of a bonded zone and warehouses in Nansha has attracted crossborder e-commerce operators and logistics companies to set foot in the region, providing huge business opportunities for Hacis.

The Hacis Nansha Depot will bring major benefits to e-commerce operators in terms of cargo handling and logistics efficiency. Cargo arriving in Hong Kong is trucked in bond on Hacis Superlink China Direct scheduled services, taking only three hours to reach Nansha. The Hacis trucks are all equipped with E-locks, so are permitted to use the fast track lane at the Chinese border.

On arrival in Nansha, the cargo can be broken down and then Customs cleared piece by piece, as individual items are required to fulfil online orders; this is a special policy designed to facilitate e-commerce. The Customs clearance office is operational 24/7. Tax incentives are exclusively offered for e-commerce cargo and popular merchandise such as infant formula will be able to enjoy license exemption.
